i still used emails especially on my business ventures. its was not dead the use of e-mails was just minimized.

I do agree too, but I'm also hoping that things like Google Wave will push towards a more innovative way of sending, receiving, reading and sharing information via "something" similar to emails as we know them. Especially when working in groups or with clients I find emails very limiting.

But until this new technology reaches main stream users another 5-10 years will go past...

That makes us three among the millions who still look upon email with respect and value. There will always be challenges such as spamming and new innovations that will make it seem futile, but surely this strong innovation will continue to prove its worth amidst it all.

E-mail is and will probably continue to be the most valuable thing the internet has given us. It is the archetype of online communication. We will manage to fix the spam and phishing problems, and will convince people to actually reply to their e-mails. It is a standard that is becoming even more of a standard every day.

I agree with you. It is not dead. It might even be the most lasting and strongest internet application ever.
