Eiso Kant: The business philosophy that I always follow

  • CADbloke · 1 year ago
If 41 years has shown me anything it has shown me that you're right on all counts. Stick with it because it has worked for me... when I eventually figured it out.

"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." - my favourite quote from Walden. It refers to an earlier comment on bravery. My greatest fear is not of death but of mediocrity.

Confidence, founded in passion and competence is a powerful ally. Confidence in isolation is an empty promise.

Reasonable people adapt themselves to suit their environment. Unreasonable people adapt their environment to suit themselves. Therefore all progress is solely due to unreasonable people.

I would cite Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (Robert Pirsig) and Walden (Thoreau) as my 2 most influential reads. Walden will take a while .. a couple of years at least. It induces much pondering. If you read them, read Zen first.

I'll leave you with 2 quotes from Zen

"and what is good, Phaedrus, and what is not good - need we ask anyone to tell us these things?" (Plato)

"We keep passing unseen through little moments of other people's lives"

I totally agree, especially about the gut feeling.

Trizle had a similar post recently:

i believe in what you are saying .. gut feeling is a good measure of what you are doing.. it indicates how you feel about certain things you are doing.. For example, if you want to get rich, and someone give you a business system or idea on how to make money..and you dun feel comformtable with it.. it is good indicator that you are not ready for this system or method. IF you FORCE yrself and ignore this gut feeling..you dont feel comfortable, in other words you won't be able to harmonize yourself with the idea, THINGS will end up failing... Based on my experience, everytime i feel uncomfortable, i will stop and think and trying to comptemplate the vision i want to achieve and try to fit the idea in my imagination.. once i can get the idea working in my head, i wil start working with facts..gathering more information.. and based on that to make my judgement.

This is my site.. and i am trying to make it better day by day on visualizing how it will benefit people visiting it and trying my best on following the method that is harmonizing with my gut feeling.

I couldn't agree more, if you don't feel it then most likely you don't like it and if you don't like it, it will bring you down to the end, no chance of success.

every year is different year. these rules are not always applicable in every situation but its also true that "f you’ve been honest and respectful along the way you can always come back to the people who worked with you" this statement is absolutely true honesty is your asset too.
